RICOH360 is a cross-industry 360 platform service that provides media management functions that can effectively use 360-degree data with 360-degree images and videos captured using a 360-degree camera as well as device management functions that can centrally manage multiple THETA cameras in the cloud, through seamless integration of 360-degree cameras, software, and cloud services.

Until now, 360-degree images and videos captured with a THETA camera needed to be transferred to a smartphone or the Internet. However, by linking the THETA camera and RICOH360 app, images and videos are now uploaded automatically to the cloud. Therefore, as an example, on-site staff can quickly share images and videos they have taken with staff in other locations via the cloud.

Also, multiple THETA cameras can be centrally managed in the cloud to provide visualization of their operation status, enabling the cameras to be optimally placed and errors to be detected, which improves operational efficiency. This central management also allows you to remotely batch update the firmware on THETA cameras at the work site, which also leads to improved business efficiency.

Furthermore, functions that use Ricoh’s image processing technology, such as AI image correction and AI human blurring, are also available for effective use of 360-degree images.

These device management functions and media management functions are provided with the API and SDK. This enables integration with the services provided by all service providers. Choose RICOH360 for all your needs relating to 360-degree image and video services.

We are pleased to announce the release of the “RICOH THETA Z1 51GB” in late April. It features expanded built-in storage from the top-end predecessor RICOH THETA model.
 
The new model “RICOH THETA Z1 51GB” is an expanded built-in storage version of the top-end model “RICOH THETA Z1” that was launched in May 2019. The basic performance of the “RICOH THETA Z1” is kept as-is, allowing users to capture 360° still images and videos in excellent image quality, significantly expanding the storage capacity from 19 GB to 51 GB to meet the needs of the market, and ensuring that users do not have to worry about storage space. With this capacity, users can save approximately 900 RAW+ images or approximately 6,350 JPEG images on the camera itself.
 
The features of the predecessor model are carried on in this model, including a compact body and 1.0-type back-illuminated CMOS image sensor which makes it possible to record 360° high-quality still images equivalent to 23 million pixels (6720 × 3360 pixels). It features versatile shooting modes such as aperture priority shooting, allowing users to capture high-quality images in any type of shooting situation, including outdoor scenes and dark scenes. Also, the powerful rotational three-axis image stabilization function lets users record incredibly realistic, smooth 360° videos at 4K (3840 × 1920) and 30 fps equivalent.

A compact spherical camera, jointly developed by JAXA and Ricoh based on the RICOH THETA camera, was sent to the International Space Station (ISS) on board “KOUNOTORI8”, a spacecraft used to resupply the space station. A compact spherical camera, jointly developed by JAXA and Ricoh based on the RICOH THETA camera, was sent to the International Space Station (ISS) on board “KOUNOTORI8”, a spacecraft used to resupply the space station. The camera was used to capture 360-degree still images and videos from an experimental platform outside the Japanese Experimental Module known as “KIBO”.

During this 3rd phase, three new still images have been added to the 1st phase of images and videos that were released on October 17 and the 2nd phase of images and videos that were released on November 27.

You can see the red desert of Saudi Arabia and the turquoise waters of Bahamas, a country elongated in the north and south.

The Z1 sports two 1-inch type illuminated CMOS sensors with a maximum ISO of 6400. How 360° videos are viewed can be selected. You can choose from four types of view formats (Mirror Ball, Little Planet, Equirectangular, and Rectilinear), including the little planet format in which captured videos are reproduced as small planet shapes floating in space.

　Videos can be cut to the length you desire.

– BGM
You can select from eight THETA+ Video original tracks or one that you own to add music to videos. Or you can switch the sound source in original videos to silent.

– Sharing
Videos you edit can be posted on social networks such as Instagram or Facebook.

THETA+ Video is an app especially for video editing with which you can trim, crop, add BGM, change the view and color tone, and more for 360° videos. Edited videos can be shared on SNS.

• RICOH THETA S can now capture images with HDR Rendering. The function can be enabled by selecting HDR Rendering when shooting with the smartphone app in auto mode.
  *Requires the latest version of the smartphone app (iOS 1.3.0 or above, Android 1.3.0 or above).
  *When shooting with HDR Rendering, four images with differing exposure parameters can be shot and rendered to generate images in a broad dynamic range. Secure the camera to a tripod, etc. before using this function.

The “RICOH THETA S” keeps the same compact and light body as its predecessor while enabling better shooting of spherical images. It is capable of the high-definition still image and high-quality video shooting sought by customers and is equipped with a live view function for shooting while checking spherical images on a smartphone or tablet.
The body is coated with black rubber for a luxury feel and more secure gripping. And it achieves smooth operability by a mode display LED that shows the current setting at a glance and a button on the side for switching between still image and video shooting.
