Checking and Changing the Camera Settings

You can check the status of the camera and make various settings on the LCD panel.

  1. Swipe down on the shooting screen of the camera to display the camera setting screen.
  2. Scroll up and down to display the items to set.

Setting Items

(wireless LAN function):
Turns on and off the wireless LAN function when tapped. (The button color is blue when the function is on, and gray when the function is off.)
(Bluetooth®/TM function):
Turns on and off the Bluetooth®/TM function when tapped. (The button color is blue when the function is on, and gray when the function is off.)
(position information addition function):
Turns on and off the position information addition function when tapped. (The button color is blue when the function is on, and gray when the function is off.)
When the function is on, position information is added to shot still images and videos. When the camera is connected to the smartphone with the basic app for smartphone running, even if the position information cannot be acquired with the camera, the position information acquired with the smartphone is added to still images and videos.

Caution

  • Depending on the geographical or weather conditions, the position information may not be acquired, or the acquisition of the position information may take time. When acquiring the position information, avoid places where radio waves are blocked or reflected, such as indoors, underground, near tall buildings, or under large trees.
  • Since the position of GPS satellites changes constantly, the position information may not be acquired, or the acquisition of the position information may take time.
  • If there is an object that generates radio waves in the same frequency band, such as a mobile phone, or a magnetic object such as a high-tension wire near the camera, the position information may not be acquired.
  • If you do not use the position information addition function for a long time or move a large distance from the place where the position information was last acquired, the acquisition of the position information may take time.
  • Be sure to turn off the position information addition function in places where the use of electronic devices is prohibited, such as in hospitals and during takeoff and landing of airplanes.
  • The collection of position information is regulated in some countries and regions. Use this function only in the country or region where you purchased the camera.
  • The position information addition function of this camera was developed as a function for personal-use digital cameras. It cannot be used for navigation equipment for aircraft, vehicles, and people, and for surveying equipment. Ricoh is not liable for any damages caused by using it for these purposes.
(touch shutter function):
Turns on and off the touch shutter function when tapped. (The button color is blue when the function is on, and gray when the function is off.)
When the function is on, a frame is displayed on the shooting screen, and you can release the shutter by tapping inside the frame.
(light/sound off mode):
Switches to the light/sound off mode when tapped.
You can keep the LCD panel and all lamps off and mute sounds including the shutter sound during shooting.

Note

  • If the temperature of the camera rises when it is used in the light/sound off mode, appears. While is displayed, the light/sound off mode is disabled. (Note that the light/sound off mode is disabled only for cameras with serial numbers beginning with YR11, YR12, YR13, YR14, or YR15.)
(silent mode):
Turns on and off the silent mode when tapped. (The button color is blue when the mode is on, and gray when the mode is off.)
When the mode is on, you can perform shooting with the shutter sound turned off.
Update firmware:
Downloads the camera firmware via the Internet and updates the firmware. When the blue is displayed on the right, you can update the firmware to a newer version.
When updating the firmware without using a smartphone or computer, the camera must be connected to a wireless router connected to the Internet in the client mode.
Screen brightness:
Sets the brightness of the LCD panel.
[Auto]: The brightness of the LCD panel is automatically adjusted according to the surrounding brightness.
(Manual): When [Auto] is set to off, select the brightness of the LCD panel from 5 levels.
Shutter volume:
Sets the volume of the shutter sound and warning sound.
Client mode:
Makes and cancels the connection between the camera and a wireless router.
    Tap [Add network] at the bottom of the screen in the client mode to make a connection by reading the QR code for Wi-FiTM connection information with the camera. The read Wi-FiTM information is registered as an access point.
  • Connecting the Camera to a Wireless Router
Bluetooth settings:
Makes and cancels the connection between the camera and a Bluetooth®/TM device such as the Remote Control TR-1.
Frequency band:
Switches the frequency bands of the wireless LAN to be used in the access point mode.

Note

  • The changed frequency band becomes effective the next time the wireless LAN function is turned on.
  • When the frequency band is set to 5 GHz, use the camera indoors only.
Communication information:
Displays QR code for Wi-FiTM connection information including SSID and password (encryption key).

Note

  • If the password has been changed, the information is protected by a PIN code. When you try to display [Communication information] for the first time after changing the password, the [PIN registration] screen appears. Register the PIN code on this screen. After registering the PIN code, [Communication information] will not be displayed unless you enter the registered PIN code. Executing [Reset password] will also reset the PIN code.
Reset password:
Resets the password used in the access point mode.
Wireless power saving setting:
Sets whether to save power during wireless connection. The camera must be restarted to change this setting.
[Prioritize speed]: The image transfer speed becomes faster.
[Prioritize power saving]: The continuous operation time becomes longer.
Power saving mode:
Enables and disables the power saving mode.
When the power saving mode is enabled, if the camera is not operated for about 15 seconds, the camera enters the power saving mode to reduce battery consumption. The power saving mode is canceled when the LCD panel is touched or the shutter button is pressed.
The camera does not enter the power saving mode when it is connected to a computer with a USB cable or to a smartphone, etc. via a wireless LAN.
Sleep mode:
Enables and disables the sleep mode, and sets the length of time before the camera enters the sleep mode.
In the sleep mode, the LCD panel and wireless LAN function are turned off. The sleep mode is canceled when the power button is pressed briefly.

Note

    If all of the following conditions are met, the wireless LAN function will be on even during the sleep mode.
  • The firmware version is 2.40.0 or later.
  • The camera is connected to the RICOH360 cloud.
  • The wireless LAN function is set to on.
  • The power is supplied via a USB cable.
Auto power off:
Sets the length of time before the power of the camera is automatically turned off when it is not operated.
Live view setting:
Sets the Live View.
[Low power]: You can reduce power consumption, but the frame rate of Live View will be reduced.
[High image quality]: The frame rate increases and the Live View image appears smoother.
USB power settings:
Sets whether to supply power to an external device connected to the USB terminal of the camera.
[Auto]: Whether to supply power to an external device is determined automatically. Select [Auto] when connecting a USB accessory that requires power supply.
[Camera charging]: Power is not supplied to an external device.
Auto switching to live streaming:
Enables and disables automatic switching to the live streaming mode.
If automatic switching is enabled, the shooting mode switches to the live streaming mode when the camera with the shooting screen displayed is connected to a computer with a USB cable.
Date/time settings:
Sets the date and time information of the camera.
[Auto]: The camera date and time are synchronized with the date and time on a network-connected device such as a smartphone.
(Manual): When [Auto] is set to off, set the date, time, and time zone.
The display format of the date and time is reflected in the thumbnail display.

Note

  • The date and time settings are retained for about 2 days even if the battery of the camera runs out.
Language:
Sets the display language for the menu, etc.
Transfer file:
Transfers all still images and videos saved in the internal memory to the memory card.
Format: internal memory:
Deletes all still images and videos saved in the internal memory.

Caution

  • Note that deleted files cannot be restored.
Format: memory card:
Formats the memory card so that it can be used with the camera. All still images and videos saved in the memory card are deleted.
The memory card that can be formated is a microSDXC card (64 GB or more; compatible with the UHS-I interface and Video Speed Class V30).
It is formatted in the exFAT format.

Caution

  • Note that deleted files cannot be restored.
Reset settings:
Resets the camera settings and shooting settings.
Reset connection information:
Deletes all connection information with the smartphone. Reset the connection information before you dispose of or transfer the camera.
Tutorial:
Displays the tutorial on how to connect the camera to a smartphone with the basic app for smartphone running.
Camera information:
Displays the camera firmware version, serial number, IP address, MAC address, etc.
Third-party license:
Displays the information of the licenses used with the camera.

Note

  • The licenses of the plug-ins can be displayed by selecting [Settings] → [Camera settings] → [License] on the basic app for smartphone.
Legal information:
Displays the certificate information of the camera.
